Stepping foot into a Sephora used to literally give me anxiety. There's an overwhelming amount of products and displays that I had no clue where to begin and what was what. Cosmetics are on a whole new level these days and apparently every girl wants to be a MUA now, but ever since I decided to step up my makeup game (my daily routine use to be suuuuper basic) and I discovered YouTube sensations, Jaclyn Hill and Kathleen Lights, makeup finally felt easy and fun. During the whole month where I was strangely obsessed with Kathleen Lights I was introduced to my new found love, ColourPop. You won’t find ColourPop at your nearest Sephora, Ulta, CVS or Walgreens because they exclusively distribute their products from their cyberland, which makes them unique over any other makeup brand you’ve ever heard of.
What makes them even more unique is that all of their products are under $8. That’s not a typo. Eight Dollars. Yeah, their collections & collabs are more expensive, but by “expensive” I mean $30 for a ton of cute things.
Wait, that’s not it. They have some of the best quality you’ll come across at that price point.
Wait, I’m still not done guys!
Most of their products are vegan friendly and 100% of it is not tested on our furry little friends. Not only are you getting an affordable, quality, cruelty-free product, you’re also supporting something made in the U.S.! It can’t get any better than that.
ColourPop has quickly become my favorite makeup brand and sharing its greatness with others has become a hobby. It’s not uncommon that I’m stopped by strangers and asked what color lipstick I’m wearing or which eyeshadow I have on. It happened to me once while I was shopping at Ulta and another time while I was watching Brand New (8th grade me can die happy) at ACL — everywhere! Never have I ever been stopped so many times about something I’m wearing. The best part is seeing peoples' reaction when I tell them that their Lippie’s (ColourPop lingo for lipstick) are only $5!!
Lastly, my absolute favorite thing about ColourPop is how easy it is to use their products, especially if you’re as inexperienced as I am. Their website is friendly and inviting with humor sprinkled throughout their pages; they like to include tips and tricks in your order in a mini guide to help apply certain products a certain way so you're not compleeeetely lost. ColourPop’s Instagram feed and Snapchat stories are filled with tons of inspo and swatches. I'd definitely recommend following them on Snapchat (@colourpopco) because they give you a better, more realistic idea of what certain shades look like on all different colored skin tones. It's really helpful. Plus the social meeeeds girls are super sweet and fun.
So, what are you waiting for??? Hop on the ColourPop train!
If you have any questions about which eye shadows you should try out or what's the easiest way to apply their ultra matte lippie's let me know and I got chu! ;)
