Fire & Desire

Festival season is our most favorite time of the year! How could it not be?! It’s a weekend getaway from reality with a combo of good food, dancing along to some of our favorite artists and, of course, one of our favorite subjects, the drop dead looks. If we’re going to be dancing and jumping along to some music, why not look good while doing it too? The process would have to be the best and most challenging part of attending the event because we literally plan months in advance. We constantly send outfit inspo to each other and ask if certain pieces would go together because sometimes we get a little bit too carried away... But, we love it all! From the fringe details to the perfect eye jewels, we’ll spend endless hours picking out every little piece that just completes the masterpiece.

Every year, Coachella-goers walk the desert runway and show off their flirty & fun styles. While the lucky attendees are living it up at Chella, we on the other hand are lying in bed, suffering from major FOMO. Ultimately, as we scroll endlessly through our Instagram feeds, we get excited and inspired for our future festival looks. We definitely get our inspo from bloggers like the Revolve girls and celebs like, Vanessa Hudgens and Kendall Jenner. If you don’t know who the cute and trendy Revolve girls are, you're living under a rock and must follow them now! They are the cutest brand ambassadors who fit the brand to a T. Without some sort of light brainstorming what we're going to wear, styling ourselves would be waaaaay more difficult. But picking outfits can be a bit of a process, especially if you don’t know where to start. Don’t worry. We picked a handful of fest outfits that we’ll always LOVE and have broken them down to make it a bit easier for you! :)

Gigi slays anything she basically wears, so it would be unacceptable to not include her in my top list of festival looks! I believe wearing white to Coachella makes every girl look so dreamy. The slit in her laidback dress completed the desert look, but I believe the headscarf totally was the cherry on top! This year, I am obsessing over the headscarf and is giving me some mad inspo for my festival look this year for Neon! Gigi is known for keeping it comfy and simple, and she definitely proved it with her Coachella look. P.s. During this time she was dating ex-boyfriend Cody Simpson and they looked suuuper cute with their coordinating outfits.

I idolize bloggers more than celebrities only because they’re regular people who express what they love on a platform for everyone to follow along. After experiencing my first blogger conference, called Create + Cultivate, I learned that it doesn’t matter about getting a huge following to read your content, but instead it matters most to cultivate a community with the people who share the same interests. Blogger Ami Song is apart of the famous Revolve girls, the group of chic ladies who we mentioned earlier. She killed it in one of my favorite Coachella outfits because she added a mix of western chic! I’m not a big person on prints, but if you know me, I love to keep it simple and I’m a bit interested in western-ish, edgy clothing (Emphasizing on the pointed toe boots and the major silver cuff-black belts). She incorporated a french and western look with the minimal colors and layers. She took her style from the street to the desert. The dress is cute by itself, but by adding her persona with the cardigan/coat gave her take on Coachella.

For some reason this year at Coachella I wasn’t that impressed by anyone’s wardrobe. Everything was super out-played and I was just over the usual Coachella fashion in general. Over. It. Except Kylie Jenner. I’m not even a Kylie Jenner fan (Sorry, @littlebiaancaa)! But this girl killed it, and I just can’t seem to get over the fact that all she wore were sexy little daisy dukes and a cropped plain white tee. So what made her outfit so special you ask? The details... the way the nude fishnet hose, bandana choker, and her my-little-pony-esque hair pulled the whole outfit together. It was simple, comfortable, but yet caught all of our attention on Instagram. Kylie slayed festival fashion this year and, for that, I will give her the props where they are due. Functionality and fashion can exist in the same realm; you don’t always have to choose fashion over function.

My theme of being comfy carries on into my other pick(s) too! I love wearing dresses or matching blouses and skirts that make a statement, especially for festivals. You can keep the rest of your outfit toned down and let your dress do the talking. Natalie and Dylan Suarez achieve this look perfectly. You’ll guarantee to stand out and be comfortable at the same time. That’s what every girl wants, right? You can even take a dress you would normally wear out on a Friday night (like Natalie did here) and dress it down with flip flops and a sun hat. Btw, the sandals Natalie is wearing here are the most comfortable shoes I’ve worn in a long time. I’ll definitely be rocking them at Neon.

We hope this helped give spark some inspo for your fest outfits! Music Festivals are like a second home to us. For those of you who will be attending the Neon Desert Music Festival, see yaaa thereee!
